Xianjinfeng Lychees, formerly known as Carmine Red, is also known as Jinfeng. The place of origin is Zengcheng District, and it is later ripened than Nuomi Ci. The fruit is flat heart-shaped with raised shoulders, bright red skin, thick and tough skin, less cracking fruit, larger fruit, thick and waxy yellow flesh, honey aroma, and sweet taste.

There is such a story in Zengcheng, the place of origin: It is said that during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, a villager in Jigang Village invited his cousin who worked in a neighbouring county to taste Carmine Lychees when the Lychees were ripe. The cousin had never seen such bright red, sweet and delicious Lychees.

In order to please the superior, the cousin picked a basket and rushed to the capital for the superior as a gratitude Gift. Strangely, even after seven days, the Lychees are still bright red in colour and the flesh is still sweet and delicious. The superior was overjoyed after tasting it and asked the name of this kind of Lychee.

The cousin thought to himself, the Lychees were used to serve the imperial court, and the fairy villages and towns were imbued with He Xiangu's fairy spirit, so why not call it "Jinfeng"? So the cousin replied: "This is the "Jinfeng" Lychee produced in Zengcheng." The superior was delighted and immediately rewarded the cousin with a hundred taels of gold.

For a while, Jinfeng Lychees became famous, and some local officials followed suit and planted it one after another. None of it tastes good, and in a fit of rage, he secretly burned the Rouge Garden. Fortunately, a villager grafted and transplanted two Jinfeng litchis from the osmanthus tree. Dare to speak up, since then there are few people who know the truth, and Jinfeng disappeared.
