Nam Dok Mai
Light yellow in colour with golden-yellow and thick flesh, this breed has a sweet fragrance and is usually eaten when fully ripe. Huge in size, elongated with a sharp end, this is Thailand's most popular variety of mangoes. It can be found everywhere in the country in the months of March to June.
Some know it as "Kim Leng" (金龙芒果) generally this Mango will grow bigger in size compared to other varieties which can weigh approximately up to an average weight of 800gms - 1 KG each. Kim Leng Mangoes will turn from green to light yellow colour when it's ripe. Just like how you check the ripeness of a kiwifruit, if the Mango yields to firm gentle pressure you know it is ripe and ready to eat.
The inner flesh is golden in colour with a mild aroma and flavour with a creamy and sweet aftertaste. The flesh is thick and mostly fiberless.
